Abstract: THIS REQUEST IS FOR A NATIONAL SURVEILLANCE FOR STREPTOCOCCAL INFECTIONS. BOTH PASSIVE AND ACTIVE SURVEILLANCE WILL BE MAINTAINED THROUGH STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENTS. THIS SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM WILL BE USED TO MONITOR TRENDS IN RATES, DEFINE THE RISK OF SECONDARY SPREAD OF THE DISEASE, AND TO BETTER DEFINE GROUPS AT RISK.
