Abstract: CATCH AND EFFORT DATA ARE NEEDED BY NMFS AND COLOMBIA TO MONITOR THE STATUS OF THE FISHERY RESOURCES IN THE TREATY WATERS. SUCH DATA, PROVIDED BY OWNERS/OPERATORS OF VESSELS OF THE U.S. PERMITTED TO FISH TREATY WATERS, WILL ENABLE NMFS TO EVALUATE THE NEED AND APPROPRIATENE OF ADDITIONAL CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT MEASURES THAT MY BE PROPOSED BY COLOMBIA FOR THE TREATY WATERS.
