Abstract: THE U.S. GROUNDFISH INDUSTRY IS CONTACTED TWICE A YEAR TO DETERMINE IT INTENT AND CAPACITY TO UTILIZE CERTAIN GROUNDFISH SPECIES. THIS INFORMATION IS NEEDED TO APPORTION GROUNDFISH QUOTAS FIRST TO THE DOMESTIC INDUSTRY AND SECONDLY TO FOREIGN OPERATIONS, AS REQUIRED BY T MAGNUSON FISHERY AND CONSERVATION ACT.
