Abstract: THE RESULTS FROM THIS SURVEY WILL BE USED TO HELP DETERMINE THE OPTIMUM FORM DESIGN FOR THE 1992 CENSUS OF CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRIES. ALTERNATIVE FORMS DESIGNS WILL BE MAILED TO A SMALL SAMPLE OF CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES FOR THEIR COMPLETION. THE TEST WILL DETERMINE WHICH "USER FRIENDLY" FORM DESIGN ELICITS IMPROVED RESPONSE AND DATA QUALITY.
