Abstract: IT IS PROPOSED TO REVISE AND UPDATE THE CURRENT REGULATION, 42 CFR PAR 72, INTERSTATE SHIPMENT OF ETIOLOGIC AGENTS. AS A RESULT SOME INCREAS IN REPORTING BURDEN IS ANTICIPATED. THE REVISION IS NECESSARY TO CLARIFY AND EXPAND THE REQUIREMENTS FOR PROPER PACKAGING AND HANDLING OF ETIOLOGIC AGENTS, THEREBY MINIMIZING THE RISK OF EXPOSURE TO THESE AGENTS BY PEOPLE WHO HANDLE THE PACKAGES.
