Abstract: OWNERS AND OPERATORS OF STEAM GENERATING UNITS WITH HEAT INPUT CAPACITIES GREATER THAN 29 MW (100 MILLION BTU/HR) WILL BE REQUIRED TO MONITOR OPACITY AND NITROGEN OXIDES AND SUBMIT QUARTERLY REPORTS OF EXCESS EMISSIONS. NEW UNITS MUST IDENTIFY THEMSELVES TO THE AGENCY. THESE REQUIREMENTS ARE NECESSARY TO ENSURE THAT AFFECTED FACILITIES COMPLY WITH THE STANDARDS ESTABLISHED IN THE NSPS.
