Abstract: UNDER THE FD&C ACT, FDA IS CHARGED WITH PREVENTION OF INTERSTATE DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD WHICH IS POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH. THE INFORMATION TO BE RECORDED IS ESSENTIAL TO PROVIDE ASSURANCE THAT EVER CONTAINER OF LOW-ACID AND ACIDIFIED CANNED FOOD RECEIVES A PROCESS WHI RENDERS THE FOOD SAFE FROM MICROORGANISMS OF PUBLIC HEALTH CONCERN.
