Abstract: THE REGIONAL OFFICES OF THE NATIONAL MARINE FISHERIES SERVICE OPERATE MARINE MAMMAL STRANDING NETWORK THAT INCLUDES STATE AGENCIES, INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE VOLUNTEERED TO COOPERATE WITH NMFS. AUTHORIZED MEMBERS COLLECT SCIENTIFIC SPECIMEN MATERIALS, RECORD STRANDING EVENTS FOR THE REGIONAL COORDINATOR AND ASSIST IN REMOVAL OF STRANDED ANIMALS.
