Terms of Clearance: In accordance with PRA and 5 CFR 1320, this information collection is approved through April 30, 1990 with the following condition: Prior to resubmission for the next usage of this test question on educational attainment in the CPS, whether by itself or within the general CPS, the Census Bureau shall submit to OMB (1) an analysis of the results of this February survey that includes a comparison of this test question with the questions it is being tested against and a discussion of the data that are lost and the data that are gained, and (2) documented responses to that analysis from the Department of Education, including the National Center of Educational Statistics.

Abstract: THESE DATA, COLLECTED FROM THE FULL CPS SAMPLE, WILL BE USED TO PROVID OVERLAP DATA FOR MEASURING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO METHODS OF COLLECTING EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT DATA. THE PURPOSE IS TO IMPROVE THI IMPORTANT DISCRIMINATOR WITHIN THE CPS DATA SET.
