Abstract: THE ECONOMIC AND AGRICULTURE CENSUSES PROVIDE THE ONLY SOURCE OF PERIODIC, COMPARABLE, DETAILED DAT OF THE STRUCTURE OF OUTLYING AREAS PRODUCTION, DISTRIBUTION, AND SERVI SECTORS. THE FIVE YEAR ECONOMIC/AGRICULTURE CENSUSES PROVIDE BENCHMAR FOR INDEXES OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION, BUSINESS ACTIVITIES, SALES, AND VARIOUS AGRICULTURAL PROGRAMS, ALL OF WHICH ARE ESSENTIAL FOR UNDERSTANDING CURRENT ECONOMIC AND AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENTS.
