Terms of Clearance: In accordance with 5 CFR 1320, this clearance is approved through September 1989. Approval is conditional on (1) the Bureau of the Census submitting to OMB all modified versions of the questionnaire 48 hours before they are used to collect information. If the Census Bureau does not hear otherwise from OMB within 48 hours, the questionnaire version is automatically approved, and (2) that at the end of the project, the Bureau of the Census submit a report of the major findings of this study by September 30, 1989, to OMB.

Abstract: THIS DATA COLLECTION INVOLVES INTERVIEWING HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND GATHERING INFORMATION FROM FACILITIES THAT PROVIDE SERVICES TO THE HOMELESS. IT REPRESENTS SERIES OF SMALL-SCALE TESTS AND A FULL-SCALE EXPERIMENTAL TEST OF TWO ALTERNATIVE METHODS FOR COUNTING THE HOMELESS AGAINST A CONTROL METHOD THIS TEST IS A COMPONENT OF THE RESEARCH ON HOMELESSNESS PROJECT.
