Abstract: UNDER TITLE 1 OF T DEFENSE PRODUCTION ACT OF 1950, AS AMENDED, THE PRESIDENT IN E.O. 1048 DELEGATED TO DOD, AUTHORITY TO REQUIRE CERTAIN CONTRACTS AND ORDERS RELATING TO APPROVED DEFENSE PROGRAMS TO BE ACCEPTED AND PERFORMED ON PREFERENTIAL BASIS. THIS PROGRAM HELPS CONTRACTORS ACQUIRE INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT IN A TIMELY MANNER, THEREBY PROVIDING VITAL WEAPONS(S) SYSTEMS TO THE GOVERNMENT IN A SHORT TIME FRAME.
