Abstract: THE ECONOMIC CENSUSES, CONDUCTED UNDER PROVISIONS OF TITLE 13, USC, SECTION 131, CONSTITUTE THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF FACTS ABOUT THE STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONING OF A LARGE SEGMENT OF THE ECONOMY AND PROVIDE ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR GOVERNMENT, BUSINESS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THEY PROVIDE AN IMPORTANT PART OF T FRAMEWORK FOR THE NATIONAL ACCOUNTS AND SERVE AS BENCHMARKS FOR ECONOMIC INDICATORS.
