Abstract: SECTION 1060 OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986 REQUIRES THE SELLER AND THE PURCHASER OF A GROUP OF BUSINESS ASSETS TO ALLOCATE THE CONSIDERATION FOR THE ASSETS AMONG THE ASSETS PURSUANT TO THE RESIDUAL METHOD OF ALLOCATION. THE SELLER AND THE PURCHASER MUST REPORT CERTAIN INFORMATION CONCERNING THE ALLOCATION OF THE CONSIDERATION.
