Abstract: THIS REGULATION SPECIFIES THE REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGN CORPORATIONS THAT ARE PASSIVE FOREIGN INVESTMENT COMPANIES TO ELECT TO BE AND CONTINUE TO QUALIFY AS QUALIFIED ELECTING FUNDS (QEF). IT REQUIRES THE QEFS ANNUALLY TO REPO TO IRS THE IDENTIFY OF THEIR U.S. OWNERS AND THE U.S. OWNERS' SHARES O THE QEF CURRENT EARNINGS.
