Abstract: THE DIRECT ENDORSEMENT PROGRAM PERMITS MORTGAGE LENDERS TO UNDERWRITE APPLICATIONS FOR MORTGAGE INSURANCE AND CLOSE MORTGAGE LOANS WITHOUT PRIOR HUD REVIEW. LENDERS THEN SUBMIT THE CLOSING PACKAGE TO HUD WITH A REQUEST FOR INSURANCE ENDORSEMENT.
