Abstract: THESE REGULATIONS REQUIRE STATES TO REFUND TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THE FEDERAL SHARE OF ALL CHECKS UNCASHED BY AFDC RECIPIENTS AFTER 180 DAYS FROM DATE OF ISSUANCE. THE AFFECTED PUBLIC IS COMPRISED OF STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE AFDC PROGRAM.
