Abstract: THIS REGULATION IS NEEDED BECAUSE THE DEFICIT REDUCTION ACT OF 1984 REQUIRES STATE AGENCIES TO EXCHANGE INFORMATION WITH EACH OTHER AND TO OBTAIN INCOME INFORMATION FROM THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE AND FROM THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION I ORDER TO MAKE MORE INFORMED ELIGIBILITY DETERMINATIONS.
