Abstract: PERFORMANCE INCENTIVES ARE APPLIED TO THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A NUMBER OF NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS BY STATE PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION (PUC'S) AND THE FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION (FERC). NRC WILL CONDUCT A SURVEY OF ITS REACTOR LICENSEES AND THE COGNIZANT PUC'S AND FERC TO OBTAIN INFORMATION ON THE INCENTIVES WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF DETERMINING WHETHER OR NOT SUCH INCENTIVES HAVE ANY IMPACT ON PROTECTI OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY.
