Abstract: THE INFORMATION IS NEEDED TO ENABLE THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR TO MEET THE RESPONSIBILITIES MANDATED BY THE NATIONAL MINING AND MINERALS POLICY ACT OF 1970 (P.L. 91-631) TO BE INFORMED OF AND TO INFORM THE CONGRESS OF DEVELOPMENT IN THE MINERALS INDUSTRIES INCLUDING POTENTIAL CRISES THEREIN. THE DATA ARE INTERPRETED, ANALYZED, AND DISSEMINATED AS PROVIDED FOR IN THE BUREAU OF MINES ORGANIC ACT OF 1910 AND AS AMENDED IN 1913.
