Abstract: PL-93-181 AUTHORIZES THE SECRETARY TO ALLOW MORTGAGEES TO SUBMIT CLAIM FOR INSURANCE BENEFITS WITHOUT CONVEYING TITLE TO THE SECRETARY. EXISTING REGULATIONS REQUIRE MORTGAGEES TO CONVEY TITLE PRIOR TO RECEIVING BENEFITS. PROPOSED RULE ALLOWS MORTGAGEES AN OPTION OF CONVEYING TITLE IF MORTGAGEES ARE SUCCESSFUL BIDDERS AT FORECLOSURE SALE.
