Abstract: THIS TEMP. REGULATIONS ESTABLISHES RULES UNDER SEC. 103(N) LIMITING THE AMOUNT OF ACTIVITY BONDS THAT MAY BE ISSUED. PRIVATE ACTIVITY BOND STATUS CAN BE AVOIDED BY HAVING CERTAIN USERS ELECT NOT TO CLAIM DEPRECIATION, THE TEMPORARY REGULATIONS REQUIRE THAT THESE ELECTIONS BE RETAINED BY THE PERSON MAKING THE ELECTION. GOVERNMENTAL UNITS WITH PRIVATE ACTIVITY BOND AUTHORITY MAY CARRY FORWARD SUCH AUTHORITY BY FILING AN ELECTION WITH THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE.
