Abstract: THE CTS PROVIDES STATISTICAL DATA ABOUT THE GEOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTION AND MODE OF TRANSPORT USE OF SHIPMENTS MADE BY ESTABLISHMENTS IN MANUFACTURING, MINING, AND SELECTED WHOLESALING INDUSTRIES. THE DATA ARE USED BY BOTH GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION PLANNERS. THIS PRETEST WILL INVESTIGATE IMPROVED METHODS OF COLLECTING INDUSTRIAL FLOW DATA.
