Abstract: SECTION 266 OF ERTA ALLOWS HOLDERS OF MOTOR CARRIER OPERATING AUTHORITIES TO DEDUCT RATABLY OVER A 60-MONTH PERIOD THE ADJUSTED BASIS OF AUTHORITIES THEY HELD ON JULY 1, 1980. THE REGULATIONS REQUIR A STATEMENT TO BE FILED ONLY IN THE YEAR THE DEDUCTION IS FIRST CLAIME SHOWING HOW BASIS WAS DETERMINED.
