Abstract: NUREG-1000, "GENERIC IMPLICATIONS OF ATWS EVENTS AT THE SALEM NUCLEAR POWER PLANT," CONTAINS A NUMBER OF INTERMEDIATE-TERM ACTIONS TO BE IMPLEMENTED OVER THE NEXT TWO YEARS. A SUBSET OF THESE ACTIONS HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO ENSURE IMMEDIATE UPGRADE OF THE REACTOR PROTECTION SYSTEM, THE MOST IMPORTANT SAFETY SYSTEM IN THE PLANT.
