Abstract: THIS REGULATION REQUIRES EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PLANS TO ESTABLISH PROCEDURE WHICH PROVIDE ADEQUATE WRITTEN NOTICE TO ANY PARTICIPANT OR BENEFICIAR OF AN EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PLAN WHOSE CLAIM HAS BEEN DENIED. AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A REVIEW OF A DENIED CLAIM MUST ALSO BE PROVIDED, THE DECISION UPON A REVIEW MUST ALSO BE IN WRITING.
