Abstract: SEC. 73.1590 REQUIRES THAT ALL AM, FM & TV LICENSEES, EXCEPT LICENSEES OF CLASS D NON-COMMERCIAL EDUCATIONAL FM STATIONS AUTHORIZED TO OPERAT WITH 10 WATTS OR LESS OUTPUT POWER, MAKE AUDIO AND VISUAL EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS AND RETAIN COMPLETE DATA AT STATIONS' TRANSMITTER. THESE MEASUREMENTS ASSURE THE COMMISSION THAT GOOD ENGINEERING PRACTICES ARE BEING APPLIED. THE DATA IS USED FOR SURVEILLANCE BY FIELD INSPECTORS. (FCC)
