Abstract: SECTION 47 OF THE IRC AND SECTION 1.47-1 OF THE REGULATIONS REQUIRE A STATEMENT (FORM 4255) BE ATTACHED TO THE TAX RETURN TO SHOW THE COMPUTATION OF THE SECTION 47 RECAPTURE TAX. THE TAXPAYER'S INCOME TA MUST BE INCREASED BY THE INVESTMENT CREDIT RECAPTURE WHEN INVESTMENT CREDIT PROPERTY IS DISPOSED OF BEFORE THE END OF THE USEFUL LIFE OR RECOVERY PERIOD USED IN THE ORIGINAL COMPUTATION OF THE CREDIT.
