Abstract: PART OF 1982 CENSUS OF GOVERNMENTS. FORMS REQUEST DATA ON STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT AND PAYROLLS (FOR ONE PAY PERIOD) BY GOVERNMENTAL FUNCTION, EMPLOYER COSTS FOR SELECTED EMPLOYEE BENEFITS, AND LABOR MANAGEMENT RELATIONS. RESULTS ARE USED BY FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, AGENCIES AND PROGRAMS, AS WELL AS BY PUBLIC INTEREST GROUPS, ACADEMIC INSTRUCTORS AND RESEARCHERS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
