Abstract: THE OMINIBUS RECONCILIATION ACT OF 1980, P.L. 96-499, MANDATES THE SECRETARY TO CONDUCT A DEMONSTRATION WHICH WOULD DETERMINE THE EFFECTS OF MAKING THE SERVICES OF CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKERS MORE AVAILABLE UNDER MEDICARE. HCFA IS PLANNING TO REIMBURSE CSW'S DIRECTLY AS INDEPENDENT PRACTITIONERS, ON A LIMITED EXPERIMENTAL BASIS.
