Abstract: PARALLEL PHYSICIAN AND PUBLIC SURVEYS ON CURRENT PRACTICES, ATTITUDES AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE LAW REGARDING INFORMED CONSENT AND MEDICAL DECISIONMAKING ARE CRUCIAL TO THE COMMISSION'S MANDATE. THESE SURVEYS WILL ESTABLISH THE NECESSARY DATA BASE FROM WHICH TO DEVELOP REALISTIC RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE PRESIDENT, CONGRESS AND RELEVANT AGENCIES.
