Abstract: RULE 15C2-11, ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 13, 1971, IS INTENDED TO PREVENT BROKER-DEALERS FROM QUOTING SECURITIES TRADED IN THE OVER-THE-COUNTER MARKET AT ARTIFICIALLY HIGH PRICES. BY REQUIRING THE RETENTION OF INFORMATION CONCERNING THE ISSUER AND ITS SECURITIES, THE BROKER-DEALE CAN MORE EASILY DETERMINE AN APPROPRIATE PRICE QUOTATION.
