Abstract: FORM 4743 PROVIDES THE TAXPAYERS WITH A SIMPLE FORMAT FOR PRESENTING INFORMATION TO SUPPORT THEIR TAX DEDUCTION FOR ITEMS SUCH AS REAL ESTATE TAXES, STATE AND LOCAL INCOME TAXES, SALES TAXES, ETC. THE INFORMATION IS USED DURING AN EXAMINATION TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE CLAIMED DEDUCTION SHOULD BE ALLOWED.
