Abstract: SURVEYS PROVIDES, IN CONJUNCTION WITH CANNERS' SOURCES, A MEASURE OF THE TOTAL SUPPLY OF SPECIFIED CANNED FOOD ITEMS HELD BY DISTRIBUTORS. WHOLESALE INVENTORIES CONSTITUTE AN IMPORTANT FACTOR IN EVALUATING THE SUPPLY OF CANNED FOOD. ADEQUATE SUPPLY INFORMATION IS IMPORTANT TO WHOLESALERS, CANNERS, GROWERS, THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, AND TO THE PUBLIC.
