Abstract: IRC SECTION 992(B) ALLOWS A U.S. CORPORATION WHOSE INCOME IS LARGELY FROM EXPORT SALES AND RENTALS TO ELECT THE STATUS OF A DOMESTIC INTERNATIONAL SALES CORPORATION (DISC) AND OBTAIN CERTAIN BENEFITS. FORM 4876 IS THE FORM USED TO ELECT THAT STATUS. FORM 4876 IS SPECIFICALLY CALLED FOR IN SECTION 1.992-2(A) OF THE REGULATIONS, AND THE INFORMATION OBTAINED IS USED TO DETERMINE IF THE REQUEST SHOULD BE GRANTED.
