Abstract: THE INFORMATION COLLECTED IS NEEDED TO EVALUATE THE QUALITY OF DATA WHICH IS CRITICAL TO THE USERS OF THE MEDICARE STATISTICAL SYSTEM. THUS, IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO DETERMINE DATA FLOW STEPS AND PROCESSES BETWEEN THE FISCAL INTERMEDIARIES AND HOSPITALS AND PROCESSES BETWEEN THE FISCAL INTERMEDIARIES AND HCFA TO IDENTIFY COST EFFECTIVE MEASURES FOR IMPROVING AND MONITORING DATA QUALITY ON A NATIONAL BASIS.
