Abstract: THE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF THIS INFORMATION COMPLIES WITH SECTION 702 OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY ACT. THIS QUESTIONNAIRE ELICITS INFORMATION REGARDING SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF YOUNG WIDOWS. THE INFORMATION IS USED BY SSA PLANNING COMPONENTS TO RECOMMEND ADMINISTRATIVE AND LEGISLATIVE MODIFICATIONS TO IMPROVE SURVIVOR PROGRAM EFFECTIVENESS AND EQUITY.
