Abstract: THE PURPOSE OF THE AWARDS UNDER THESE PROGRAMS IS TO IMPROVE AND DEVELOP PROGRAMS IN MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGE AND AREA STUDIES IN THE EDUCATIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE UNITED STATES. THE DOCTORAL DISSERTATION RESEARCH ABROAD PROGRAM PROVIDES ASSISTANCE FOR GRADUATES STUDENTS TO ENGAGE IN FULL-TIME DISSERTATION RESEARCH ABROAD.
